Lilly didn't want to touch one with her bare hand , so here is a close up of one on her sleeve.
Here are millions of them in their natural state. I had never even seen 1 live sand dollar before, and there they were! Not sure if they are always there, and I had just not been there when the tide was so low. Maybe it was their breeding season? Something with the moon phase?? End of days?!? EEEE What ever it was, it was very cool!
