Beaches

We had a beautiful day at Lincoln City. We hunted for glass floats. We still have not found any floats, but we did find some sun! Even the 'ol dog has still got it in her.

Soul Food

Aunti Mi!

Silly girls!

This weekend we went to the bazaar at Nichiren Buddist Temple. Aunti Mi was volunteering there. She did a great job. The food was awesome and exactally like I remember it when I was young. You just can't beat the chow mein in the box! I bought extra to freeze, but we ate it all for dinner. I was gonna take a picture too, but I tell ya, it goes super fast around us.

JJ with a full belly.

Hat Time!

My cousin Katy was giving away this hat. Ellie was so excited! Lilly always enjoys a good hat.

JJ was not so excited. This is Katy, now we see why she was giving away the hat. I think it does not make her happy.
Katy will be happy to know it is going to a good home. :-)

Thanks Katy!

Things that are Blue! & JJ reading a book

St. Patricks Day!

We went Leprechaun hunting... I think we found the cave that they hide in, but all the leprechauns must have been out counting their gold, or at least they heard us coming. The hunting made us thirsty. No green milk here! Lilly prefers pink.

Since I don't claim to have any Irish in me, I had the green curry for lunch. So pretty I had to take a picture!

Hope everybody had a great day!

3.14 Happy Pi day!!!

When I think of Pi...I think of round things..and one of my favorite round things is a hedgehog named Hufflepuff!

I bet you didn't know he also makes a fashionable hat.

He runs in a round wheel!

He hides in a round tube!

Star Light, Star Bright, Where have you been Star Wright?

For Lilly's birthday last year she got this kitten. She named him Star. They became friends, but Star's best friend is Gracie, our dog. Gracie treats Star like her pet. They wrestle, share food and snuggle together. This is Star now...
We had not seen Star for a few days. Last night he came home with this funny laminated note tightly taped to his collar, and quite a few pounds heavier.

It says, "You have a very nice cat. He comes to visit me most nights. The other night he woke me up at 3:00 am wrestling around the living room with my cat and his bell is very loud on wood floors. I don't know what his name is, so I just call him Tinkerbell. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know I'm making fun of him. I have pet doors and he just makes himself at home. He won't go near my wife, but he lets me pet him once in a while. Anyway, I don't want to scare him away or shoo him home cause I don't know which way home is, and he's not talking." Then on the back of the note it give the author of the note's name, address and phone number.
I called the number and it turned out to be Jerry, the guy that lives directly behind us. We exchanged a few cat stories, laughed, and I told him how much I enjoyed his note. My plan now is to keep Star inside. Lilly's plan is to change his name to Snowball. We will see how long both plans last.

Lilly lost her first tooth!!!

Yesterday was an exciting day for all of us on the ranch. Lilly lost her first tooth! They are coming out just the way they came in when she was a baby. I remember she got her bottom teeth first, then her top teeth came in. This picture was taken shortly before she lost the tooth. She was showing me her "sour blueberry" face. Then with a little wiggle the tooth was gone! As you can see, Lilly has some big beauties already peeking through to replace the baby shark teeth.
Lilly's new smile!

This is what she found this morning under her pillow. She has it all figured out! She was hoping the tooth fairy would bring her some silly bands, but now she will be able to buy ones she chooses with her dollar!

Spring Has Sprung...

One of the first signs of spring for me is when I notice the distinct smell of Daphne off in the distance. I sniffed this one down that looks like it had been blooming for a while.

Another sign is the crocus...

crocus with distant daffodils...

Hellebore!
I don't know what this is, but it sure is purdy.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Today Mardi Gras beads were given out at work! Sugar was quite curious about the shininess. She tried them on, but they were kinda big for her.

Gracie was unimpressed.

Hufflepuff just rolled into a ball at the sight of them. He's not really into the whole party scene.

dino bites

Sunday SBJ was minding his own business, being good, when suddenly he was viciously attacked by this T-REX. Perhaps he should have shared his snack.

The Ranch Hands

With this batch, there is usually one sour pickle. This was fall 2010.

This time it was James. Thanks Jennifer for the pictures and a great park trip.
